Justin Timberlake’s William Rast for Target

It’s one thing when Proenza Schouler whips their $2000 corset tops into $35 versions for Target or Rodarte channels their creativity into affordable slip dresses, but Target’s next collaboration is with William Rast which lacks much of a signature in the first place.

Justin Timberlake and Trace Ayala’s collection’s all about Americana.  There’s lots of denim, some leather, and plenty of fringe, but how will that translate into something special at Target?  Well for one thing they’re doing menswear, which every designer collaboration’s left out.  They’re also focusing on outerwear and sportswear — with denim of course — so it may be the perfect place to find some faux fur come winter even if this doesn’t create the industry clamor of past collaborations.

New York Fashion Week will host one more William Rast show before its clothes land in Target on December 19th.
